Ouch, that Marshall has cost you a bit.

Explains why I have gone with combos these days as much cheaper, lighter, and generally easier to control the sound levels too.

But the thing was, at the time I decided I really needed to spend the money to get some decent gigging gear because I was feeling fed-up with having to make do with cheap and nasty gear, and I wanted to take things to the next level and get a bit more serious about being a musician, so I felt fine about spending more cash, I'm glad I did cause I think my Marshall turned out to be a good gigging amp once it had been fixed so it was more reliable, there's nothing worse than going onstage to play a gig and the amp pops a fuse, or breaks-down before you've even played your first song, it's even worse if the amp dies just before, or in the middle of that epic guitar solo you've been rehearsing for weeks, without any warning.

Assembled over quite a few years when money was tight, its a Dean Markley 150watt head and a with a Roland guitar Pre-amp. The cab is a Yamaha double 15" J bin but loaded with Jensen speakers. I chose the guitar pre-amp over a bass pre because there were no cheap secondhand bass pre's in those days and I was able to get very bright top end when needed, but roll off the treb and she has loads of bottom end grunt from the 15's. The Roland also has a built-in DI for connecting to FoH.

She's been a workhorse and doesn't do anything flash, but does everything I want from a bass amp.

Nice use of an axe pre there rob, I desire a pretty punchy sound for my bass tones within my band so I'l proabably benefit from a guitar pre too... So are you running that guitar pre into the preamp of the DM head?

Here is a shot of a wall of Lenard amps, mine had two of these quad boxes which are quite a bit bigger than the Marshall ones

Geez, I would so love to get my hands on a fully working HH IC100-S, supposedly Marc Bolan from T Rex used one in his stage rig.

Yep Marc Bolan used one, mine was given a refresh last year still bloody loud and clean to the point where your ears break up.

Depending on what happens with the band over the next 6 months I may put it up for sale because it's simply got too much grunt if we are only recording and not gigging
