Hahahaha....trouble is, I never really aspired to be a rock star, with all it's pitfalls and troubles....lol.

The good thing about my Marshall amp is that it's a good weapon to use against all my noisy neighbors, all I have to do is turn it up to...er...Eleven, and play the most bone-jarring, ear splitting power chord riff I can think of....*cue evil laugh*.....hahahaha.

Doc, I once lived over a panel shop (had the entire top floor over 6 factorys), the guy used to come in Sunday morning at about 7am, and bang around, smoke cones , cough his lungs out then leave. I needed revenge...... One Monday morning I moved my stereo ( a big Rotel quad amp pushing Ultra Linear bass relflex speakers ) directly over his work shop, put on Ministry "TV Set" on repeat cranked the volume and went to work. He never came in on a Sunday again

That's actually a pretty cool track, I remember watching a video clip of a song by Ministry called "Jesus built my Hotrod", it was awesome, Ministry rocks.

    Cheers for posting it mate.

Jesus Built My Hotrod was the greatest thing my Teenage self had ever heard (at that time).

"Soon I discovered this whole rock thing was true, Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil, jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet , so I found my self in love with the work and there was only one thing left i could do was DING A DING DANG MY DANG A LONG LINGLONG!"

It still makes me smile and head bang

I just found it on youtube and had a listen to it (I posted a link to it in the "What are you listening to" thread) , definitely brought back memories from the mid 90's for me, at the time I first heard it I thought it was the heaviest thing I'd ever heard.

She ain't pretty and she's pretty "old school" but this is the Amp rig I used for many years in bands and is now my rig for church.

Back in the day I used a '72 Fender Jazz and an Ibanez SDGR bass. Nowadays of course I am using my fretless MMB-4.

Assembled over quite a few years when money was tight, its a Dean Markley 150watt head and a with a Roland guitar Pre-amp. The cab is a Yamaha double 15" J bin but loaded with Jensen speakers. I chose the guitar pre-amp over a bass pre because there were no cheap secondhand bass pre's in those days and I was able to get very bright top end when needed, but roll off the treb and she has loads of bottom end grunt from the 15's. The Roland also has a built-in DI for connecting to FoH.

She's been a workhorse and doesn't do anything flash, but does everything I want from a bass amp.

Wow Robin, that's a monster vintage rig.

How is your back as that setup would have weighed plenty?

@ Robin Yep, unfortunately that seems to be the case for pretty much all aspiring musicians, me included, we always seem to end up making -do with whatever gear we can afford, I think I was pretty lucky in that I was able to score myself a Marshall amp for under Au$2000.00, it took a bit of fixing to get it working more reliably, but I reckon it was worth it, and yeah, we also have to deal with whatever life has to throw at us too, and some aspiring musicians have to spend time, and, or, effort keeping their "significant-others" happy too.

The guy who fixed my Marshall for me did a trade deal with me, where I traded some stuff I didn't want anymore for his time and effort in fixing the amp, it would have cost me just over Au$600.00 in parts and labor to get the amp fixed otherwise.
