Doc take the cheap option get yourself one of these FireWire cards. I've bought SIIG previously.
Gotta be cheaper than buying a Digi 002.
Besides there's far better audio interfaces at quarter the price now. Let's try getting your Digi working.
The FireWire cards are cheap it's finding someone with cheap postage too.

I just found a newer Digi 002 driver installation file in my downloads folder, which I could try with my Digi 002 to see if it gets it working again, the one I was using before was version 8.0.3, this new one is a version 9, it's for the Digi 002 and 003 Rack.

    Update:

Nope, installing that version 9 Digi 002 driver didn't get the Digi 002 working properly again, I think that might rule out the driver as being at fault, I also tried a different Firewire port with the same result, I'll see if I can post some pics so you can see what my Digi 002 is doing later on tonight.

    Update 2:

A few minutes ago my PC had a major hissy fit, it was running real slow, while I was searching for something under my bed, I moved something and noticed that when I got out from under my bed, everything was off, turns out a 240V AC plug had disconnected itself, so I fixed that, went to power up my PC, that's when I noticed the sluggish response of my PC, my Saffire Pro 40 wouldn't connect to it, so I shut the PC and the Pro 40 down and had a good look at my PC to find out what was wrong, soon as I lifted it up on top of the PC desk in my room, I saw that one of the ventilation grills was covered in dust and lint so I cleared that all off, I took the side panel off the PC case and used some Air Duster to give the case a blow out, I put everything back together again and powered up the PC, it seems to be okay now.

Doc teach the cats to hit that Hoover lol. The last drivers written for the Digital Rack 002 was 9.0.8 April 2014 should be Windows 10 compatible. How's your audio interfaces now

I managed to get my Saffire Pro 40 working again, it stopped working properly when my PC had it's major hissy fit earlier this afternoon, seems to be okay now, unfortunately the Digi 002 still refuses to work correctly even with the latest driver installed, I tried a different firewire port, made no difference, for some reason, Device Manager says it's working correctly, but it's as if the Digi 002 isn't being detected as being plugged in, even though it actually is plugged in, I'll see if I can take some pics so you can see what it's doing.

Had to disconnect The Pro 40 first to take the pics of the Digi 002, after I took the pics I reconnected the Pro 40 and my PC suddenly performed very sluggishly, and then locked up, had to do a hard re-set to get the PC working normally again.

Okay here are the pics of what my Digi 002 is doing when powered up and connected to my PC:

Firstly, here's what I'm seeing on the front panel, the Led marked 1394 would normally be blinking on and off when the Digi 002 was working correctly, in this case the Led is off:

When I go into Device manager and check that the Digi 002 is working, I see this :

But, when I right-click the speaker systray icon and click on the Recording and Playback devices tabs, I see this:

And here's what my Pro 40 does when its powered up and connected to my PC, it is working at the moment:

In both cases, the two Audio Interfaces were plugged into the PC using the same IEC power lead, Firewire Lead, and the same Firewire port on the PC.

So, it looks as if my PC can't decide whether my Digi 002 is working or not because I'm getting conflicting reports from Device Manager and the Systray Speaker Icon.

Either that, or my Digi 002 is faulty in a way that makes Device Manager think it's still working correctly.

And as you can see in Device Manager, there appears to be no problems with my Firewire ports, which are listed under IEEE 1394 Host Controllers.

So, is that a weird one or what?

Yep, I do have one, but I've already tried that and it didn't make any difference.

I even tried that spare cable again, just to be sure, same result, it made no difference.

However, using that spare cable with my Pro 40 is a different story, the Pro 40 works.

No, but I do have an old G4 Mac that has a Firewire 400 port in it, I guess I could try and see if the G4 recognizes the Digi 002 tomorrow.

My gut feeling is that the problem is with the Digi 002, maybe the Firewire ports on it are faulty, the reason why is because just before the Digi 002 stopped working, the audio suddenly became badly distorted and there was something in the sound that sounded like bad aliasing, best way I could describe it, then Mic/Line input one stopped working.
