Hey Kimball, I think I may have figured out why my Digi 002 Firewire Audio Interface isn't working correctly, I have noticed three capacitors in the Digi 002's power supply that look like they are bulging, that's a sure sign that there's something wrong with them, I'm going to go to my local Jaycar Electronics shop and buy some replacements for them and see if that get's my Digi 002 working properly again.

See how it goes Doc replacing them. I'd still bank on it being a driver issue. But if it does the job Doc.,then that's a good job jobbed.
    Goodluck

Ti Chipsets seem to work best with firewire cards and DAW software Doc a worthwhile upgrade.
Another thing that always messes up firewire hardware is your comp going to sleep Doc. Any FireWire hardware normally disconnects.
That could be another thing to look in on your power settings.

Cheers, I actually have the sleep setting set to "never", actually the power settings of my DAW PC are set to favor performance, since it's not powered by a battery, I just got back from buying the new caps and some other stuff from Jaycar Electronics, going to work on the Digi 002 power supply shortly.

Well I've replaced all the bulging caps and it made no difference, but still, it was worth doing anyway cause those caps will eventually leak.

So, the Digi 002 is powering up, but the 1394 indicator Led does not light up when it's connected to my PC, the only indicator Leds that do light are the one for the mute button, and the 44.1 Sample Rate Led, funny thing is, Windows Device Manager reports that the Digi002 is working correctly, but it doesn't show up in the Audio Devices window in the Systray, so I reckon there's probably something wrong with the Digi 002's firewire ports because my Saffire Pro 40 works with both my firewire ports, it's looking like a hardware issue.

Maybe it's time I went and made myself a good decent cup of coffee, so I'll go make one, my brain feels like it's fried.....lol.

Uninstall the FireWire driver remove card from slot.If it's part of the motherboard just uninstall and reboot.
Reboot into Windows make sure FireWire card is completely uninstalled. Reinstall the FireWire card if applicable .Now let Windows install it. Try the Windows version first. If that doesn't work go find the latest driver for the card see if that version works better. Uninstalling the Windows driver first. It weird two PC'S two different TI FireWire cards one works better with the Windows driver. The other works better with manufacturers driver.

    1. Power off your Digi Interface.
    2. Find your FireWire (IEEE 1394) controller in Device Manager (go to Start > Control Panel > System > Device Manager).
    3. Open the IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers group.
    4. Right-click on your FireWire controller and choose "Update driver..."
    5. Use the "Search for files on your computer" option.
    6. Select the "Choose from a list" option. Select the "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)" driver and click "Next".

Cheers I'll give that a go, I have already un-installed all the Digi 002 Driver software and disconnected the Digi 002 from the computer, I might also try a motherboard BIOS reset too.

There's one Firewire port that's integrated on the motherboard, and there's another one on a PCI card that's plugged into one of the spare PCI slots, both Firewire ports use Via chipsets.

One thing I did notice is that last night I got a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death), and a while ago I got another BSOD.

But first I'm going to have a cup of coffee so I can get my brain working better.

Coffee is the best aid to PC problems don't ask DB. He thinks a Jack Hammer is the ultimate hi tech repair aid.

Yeah, I know, Windows 10 is supposed to be really stable, I think I may have had about four BSODs in Windows 10 so far, ever since I changed over to it in July last year.

Yep, I can't function without my morning coffee, so as it's now 5:27pm I'm probably well overdue for one.

If I can't get my Digi 002 working properly again, I might have to retire it and consider one of the two following options:

    1, Buy a second-hand replacement Digi 002 on eBay.

    Or...

2, Consider investing in an Octopre, or two to add more mic/line inputs.
