    Woot Woot!!!
My kit has arrived. Thanks to Adam for the quick dispatch and Australia Post for the shipping time. It arrived a day early!!
Great looking figure and a subtle flaming, and on a quick inspection at work, so far, everything looks pretty good.

Looking forward to having a closer look tonight at home, and doing a mock build!!
    Update soon!

I'm seriously re-considering my colour choice right now. This will look great left natural, but I'm not sure what to do right now!
One other thing, the neck joint looks to need some work. Quite a lot of side to side movement, and the bottom routing on the body seems to slope towards the back, is this normal?

MMMMMM Lovely Spalted goodness. Some great figure in that one mate.

Not quite sure what you mean by the bottom routing? Do you mean the bridge Pickup Rout?

Sorry, my terminology is purely guesswork!
The pocket where the neck fits into, the bottom surface is sloped. at the back of the slot(near the bridge pickup) it is higher than at the front of the slot.
    Hopefully this helps.

Hi Zandit, awesome kit you scored was well worth the wait. That spalting is off the chain. I think natural or a lighter stain will work great.
The neck pocket angle is for compensation for the Tune O Matic bridge height so that is normal. It's called the break angle and is usually around 3 degrees angle

As Wokks posted, an angled neck is standard/necessary for a tune-o-matic style bridge like yours:

It's always good to do a check of the angle during a mock build. Clamp the neck in place, sit the bridge on the body (maybe on some washers) and run a piece of fishing line from the high/low E slots on the nut down to the bridge saddles, just to get an idea of how your action will look.
    Scott.

Ahhh, see, this is why I need you guys!!
I'm just an acoustic player, so none of this makes any sense at the moment!
Thanks for the diagram Weirdbits, that makes it much clearer.
