Looking great Pabs. What is the finishing plan? Gonna show some pine grain? I really like the shape. I'm going to be watching carefully.
cheers,
Gav.

Hey Waz, I think he chose pine as it's cheap, easy to shape and replace if any major mistakes happen. I built about 10 pine scratchys before moving onto better timber for that reason too, I learnt so much before moving onto $200+ body blanks
Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck
Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in
Also makes better firewood if you stuff things up too.
Got the neck pocket template made, now it seems I'm too busy to get anything else major done. Not in any sort of rush.
The neck is from a japanese made Aria Pro XR from the mid 80s. Left handed, flipped for a reverse headstock. The fret markers are going to end up on the wrong side, no biggie. I might end up putting some more in, might not.
Sketched out an idea for the contours. A little extreme, but the top is going to be flat, so might as well get some curves going on the back.
