@andrew: thanks. I reckon I should get shares into this company now! :-)
@tonyw: I definitely checked the cabling at least 3x times before I got it in! I ended up replacing my direct soldering of the tone pots casing to shielding braid by a more flexible cable as I thought that it had too much risk of snapping again when installing the wiring harness in the body...
These pots are a bit big for the f hole on this body and I had to twist them around a fair bit to get them in the body... so I really didn't want to have to get them out again!
Anyway, seems all good now!
