I do like the quilted maple grain and would like to keep it if possible.
That's the exact same problem I have with my just-arrived PRS-1Q. The bleeding won't show on my built because I'll be putting a pretty wide black burst on it

What is the quality of the finish like on your quilted maple veneer? Mine looks like it was prepared using 80 grit. There are a few quite deep sanding scratches in some places.

I've been warned on this forum about the Q kits having really thin veneer, so I'm already nervous about sanding the imperfections out before attempting a rubbed burst, which will require MORE sanding.
