Just orderd my first kit (TLA-1 with some Tonerider vintage pickups) to build with my son (16 yrs old, the real musician in the family, mostly bassist but he dabbles with keys and guitar too).
I have no idea what I'm getting myself into but it seems fun so ... The kid also has access to a woodworking shop & teacher at school, so that should help.
I'll try to do a build diary once we get the bits and actually start building (probably not before October).
