I tend to keep the controls on my guitars pretty simple, one control wiring system that I find really works for me is a system that consists of a master volume and master tone control, on my Steinberger guitar I have a 500k A volume control and a 500k A tone control with a .047uF (47nF) tone cap, the pickup switch is a 5-position type.
