love the gold cap Rabbitz, almost need to wear sunglasses.
As for the colour on the back of Slash's AFD axe, I'd suggest you send an email to DB and he should be able to mix that colour.
Its a bit more brown and karajini red colour, like a really deep mahogany colour. Think if you put a brown stain on then many karijini red coats you could get a similar colour on the mahogany wood
Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck
Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in
Yeah still mulling it over.
Something Island Moose said in his build thread "let maple be maple" - although I am reading that as 'let mahogany be mahogany' - it has me leaning back to my very original vision of having a clearish coat for the back and sides.
The tru-oil has come up a treat on the mahogany of the neck, and it is pretty normal to have the neck and back colours consistent.
Bloody Pest, I had it all settled now I am back to analysis paralysis. At least in this weather I have a week to vacillate before I can really do anything else...
I guess the obvious answer to my quandary is to get a second kit and do it in the AFD manner and see which one I like best![]()
Slash AFD for the win haha, definitely going to make me one of these now (I'm a huge slash fan) 😝 looks good though Rabz, wonderful start indeed!
