Went back and had a look at the neck which has been curing for a couple of weeks now.

    Here is a tip:
Don't apply a finish if you have a tumble dryer running in your workshop.

Just found all sorts if lint and dust stuck to what was going to be the final coat. I've had to knock most of it back with 320 grit and steel wool.

I guess a few more coats won't hurt me!

This on and off wet weather is really beginning to irk me. I actually thought having the warm air from the dryer in the workshop was a help - I didn't realise just how must lint is spewed out of one of those things.

    *shrug*

There is but one cure - sanding...

bummer Rabbitz, well it's a good lesson to everyone don't leave ur build curing near a dryer.
Better set up that chair in the sunshine (if there is any) and do more sanding !

    Hey Wokka,

It is a PITA day today, misty rain coming and going and only about 15°C, so an indoors day.

The Mrs has the dryer going again so no oiling or staining, but it won't stop the sanding

Got the radio on, waiting for the sports to start - there is also a little bit of ham radio coming in from Japan so not a terrible day to be in the shed.

Well got the neck knocked back and a layer of Tru-oil back on. It is now hanging in a different spot and the Mrs has been cautioned about using the dryer tonight

Did a heap more sanding of the body.

Well, the point of no return has been reached, and sailed straight past...

Coat 1 of Dingotone Coolangatta Gold has been applied to the top. It is very very yellow.

    Now we wait.

I haven't applied anything to the sides and back yet - I am waiting to see how the colour goes on the top before proceeding.

    Photo's to follow.

Awwww see what you've done now Pest?

I've gone and looked at one of those AFD's. Now I am having second thoughts about the neck and back colours.

Hey DB, what Dingotone colour would be close to the back of the guitar in this image?
