I'll see what I do with the truss rod cover. I've got a few black ones I didn't use from previous PBG kits, or I'll resize this one... don't know if I want the 3 ply (B/W/B) or solid black, we'll see when we get there.
I'll also have to work out what I do for the tenon cover. I don't think there will be much more than 5mm seeing once the pup ring is screwed in... I hadn't finished the tenon, so I applied the same ink mix I had left over. I'm going to finish with poly too when I finish the neck/body join, just in case I end up not using a tenon cover.
Starting to see the finish line now! I'd better get started on the electronics!

Filled the small gap with ebony timbermate, and then applied my ink mix on top.
Next step will be to apply poly over this and it shouldn't be visible at all...

Drilled the tuner screw holes.
Predrilled at 1.5mm and used soap to lubricate and avoid any screw breaking issue.
All good so far.
At the back the grovers shape works pretty well with the shape of the headstock and the headstock sticker looks good now with the tuners in position.
Quite happy with that!

Drilled and screwed the trem in position as well. Wanted to do all set up and drilling before polishing.
I'm thinking the black plate with the X on the trem has to go... doesn't look classy enough...
