    Wotcha from the UK

Hiya - Santa delivered me a fantastic looking EXA-1 kit from Pitbull Guitars yesterday. Really looking forward to planning and building the guitar. Thought I'd drop a line here to say hello before creating the build diary. I'm based in the UK. Never built a guitar before but have played for 30+ years since I was 11.

I did think about hydro-dripping the body but, now that I've got it, I think a natural finish might be better (similar to my dream guitar when I was a kid - a Hamer Diablo...). Lots of other decisions to make — e.g. should I replace the pickups with something from Bare Knuckle or EMG — so looking forward to getting stuck in.

    Cheers!

    Hi and welcome rhyd.

+1 for natural finish as there is some nice grain in the ash. The neck has a nice pattern also.
And yes, there are lots of decisions you have to make - Or, lots more guitars to build (I went with the latter!).
    PitBull Builds: FVB-4, LP-1SS, FBM-1, AG-2, TB-4, SSCM-1, TLA-1,TL-1TB, STA-1HT, DSCM-1 Truckster, ST-1, STA-1, MBM-1, MBM custom, GHR-1 (Resonator).

Scratch Builds: Pine Explorer, Axe Bass, Mr Scary, Scratchy Tele's.

The little voices in my head keep telling me "build more guitars"

Check the break angle before you set the neck. Make sure you have enough play on the TOM to get the action right.
