The fourth picture almost looks from an alien planet. Must be wonderfull to live there...
One of the nicest places on the whole of the east coast of Australia.
Last warm weekend of Autumn at Kings Beach looking south towards Bribie Island across the shipping channel....

This is the view that greeted tonight me after stopping to grab a special coffee for my wife at Bulcock Beach near the boardwalk adjoining Pumicestone Passage looking across to Golden Beach....

Geez, it's hard not to like living in this part of the country when everywhere else is shivering their butts off.
Let's see if I can get the photos working again. Here's a few of York.

I should point out that these shots, along with my build diary, give a very flattering picture of the weather in York, it's generally a lot greyer and a lot wetter.
There's the remains of a tower, in the same gardens as that last shot, that got a base that's pre-roman. Does tend to blow the minds of some of our tourists from newer countries. :)
So which one was your castle?

I fondly remember sitting in London for the first time, supping a pint with mates, in an inn whose building was as old the settled history of both of the countries I call home. Apparently it is referenced in the first map of Southwark circa 1543.
And to think NSW was planning to bulldoze and rebuild the SFS because it's 30 years old!
Consider I work at sea for half the year, here are some pics of places I worked last year.
Nice shots hardcore. Whereabouts were they taken?

No photographer here but even phone shots are OK when looking down at ones home.
Hmmm, it was a nice panoramic photo but the program won't accept :-(
How about one of Mrs Cork Sniffer in the same place, Wollongong's Nth suburbs.

Top left is Christmas Island, bottom left is Cocos Isands and the middle one is from Fort Greenhill on Thursday Island in Torres Strait.
BlindDrew - the fish looked a lot happier when I let him go, that did not last long though, as a pack of sharks tore him to pieces seconds later. Cocos Island is a VERY sharky place.
noted for future avoidingthehelloutofthatplace ;)
Yep sure change a lot.
While always living north side I was indentured to the old AIS from 68 to 71.
You'd recognize this, I took it with an early pocket camera years ago.

We spend a bit of time down there, looking at Bulli, mainly between Point St & Farrell Rd within walking distance of the beach.
We have seen a couple of other spots of interest but that is the main one and it's about half an hour of where we live now so not too far from the grandies
Been down to the beach late every day since Saturday to see how cyclone Oma is affecting things. These were taken on Sunday afternoon.....

Samsung mobile phone cannot do much better in low light plus there was also a lot of salt spray creating a haze effect.
Went down again tonight and the wind has considerably picked up, got sand blasted from all the airborne sand, surf is about the same, and loads more salt spray haze.
Not often we see a cyclone this far south and it may be a couple more days before we know where it might end up. Board riders will be loving it.
Wow. You guys live in some beautiful places.
I wound up in Canberra for a long Latest Pakistani Talk Shows time, a genuinely wonderful city however the winters are cracking loathsome! It is additionally an over the top expensive spot to live.
