Wokks this is really looking stunning. Love the double binding tele look. Tim has really started something here. Another amazing build dude.
cheers,
Gav.
cheers Gav, now the fun part taping off double binding but it's well worth it
more progress on this build, Pablo cut me a vinyl record pickguard and control cover, they arrived in the mail Thursday. So this is a mock build. Got about 5 coats of naughty oil on. I thought I would get away with some cracks in the veneer and parts have lifted since clear coats went on. Oh well next time I'll sand it off and glue another veneer on
few more pics
Awesome pickguard! At least you didn't end up with Nana Miskouri on the label.
How many records were broken in the making of it? ;)
Hi Swanny, as far as I know Pablo didn't break any records (pun not intended haha) he has a laser cutter at work.
He also cut me a gold mirror guard and control plate for another tele project I'm working on a gold tele, stay tuned !
It's a James Taylor record and I like the colours on the label. I can always print another record label and glue it on
@ Pabs FYI your neck recesses in the pickguard need to be about 1mm wider. Otherwise they are spot on, cheers mate
Looks awesome Wokka! Love the pickguard, nice work Pablo!
Cheers Tim. Your tele must be close to assembly?
Looking very cool.
I love the honey oak colour with the black kit.
Trés chaud, mon ami.
love the look of this, very nice job, the black with the double binding is great
cheers fellas, thanks to all that voted for black back/sides really goes well with the vinyl guard. Time for another clear coat
You guys mind translating your comments please? No idea what youre saying haha
Noice werk, Woks :)
Looking good Woks, also like the vinyl control plate
cheers DB, Ponch and DK.
@ DK I knew a petrolhead would recognise the Williams F1 car. There is a bit of eye candy in pit lane !
James Taylor album, that might lower your street cred......
haha yeah I know Fretty, not the biggest James Taylor fan but I like the colours. If I get sick of it I'll print an AC/DC record label or maybe a Rolling Stones label for Keef
very cool, love the veneer and binding
Wok I love the new avatar
Ps I saw JT live he was brilliant, the voice was like honey.
No shame there!
Translation Woks I believe is
Trés chaud, mon ami Very hot, my friend
Oui! J'aime ca. Yes! I like this
got this build finished yesterday all assembled and wiring done it's making noise and managed not to break the vinyl pickguard and control cover.
Will wait for the neck to set in and intonate it
few more pics. Very happy with the Kent Armstrong mini humbucker measured around 13k resistance and got a really nice growl to it
Amazing build Wokka. Love every aspect, especially the binding and scratchplate - you've hit it out of the park with this one.
How about a sound demo? Are they stock pups?
chers,
Gav.
very nice, I too like the creative use of material for the pick guard, love the title "Hello old friend", classic use...
cheers Gav, I'll post a sound demo soon. Neck pup is stock I may upgrade later. Bridge pup is a mini humbucker Kent Armstrong and I've got a push pull volume pot to coil split it.
cheers Neil. Have to thank Pablo for cutting the pickguard and control plate
Pro job all-round Uncle Chopper, another sensational Tele has entered the world! Love the binding, pickguard/control panel and overall scheme. And after all that goodness a mini humbucker as well! Good stuff.
cheers Ponch, haha uncle Chopper hahah
here's a quick sound demo I recorded lastnight, I'm still getting used to Pablo's picks but really dig the sound they give. Haven't done any setup or intonation yet. This is the bridge pup

Awesome...
It must be sunnies indoors at night that add to the vibe :p
haha those LED lights are bright as DB !
Yeah, especially after several beers.....
haha that's it DB, well the beer labels on the beer label axes have to come from somewhere
The telecaster is looking and sounding really good, I'm surprised at how fat it's sounding with a distortion tone.
cheers Doc, I'll be getting more of the Kent Armstrong mini humbuckers it's resistance is about 13k ohms so it's a pretty hot pup.
Here's a link to the pickup

They're nice sounding pickups, my Gibson Les Paul Studio has a Gibson 490R installed in the neck position and a 498T in the bridge position, they look like silver PAFs but have a more modern voicing, I'm really liking them alot, what were you using to get that distortion sound?
