Yep, they also stock Shielded Audio wire that's fine for use in guitar wiring too.

Nope, but you can wrap the wire in copper tape..
I will have to take myself off to the NW for this, but the snail tape from the BGSFOS should do the trick..
Wrap it then heat shrink over that should get you out of the poo :p
Oh, and I am working on a purple Dingotone.....
It's in his sig: http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...ead.php?t=3146
Ahh thanks weird bits :)
So is there a prize for the most thread views? How can a young woman from little old Nowra have over 12k views! Thanks guys :)
An interesting thread, a nice job, some smart questions and answers and a bit of thread jacking all make it a big thread, enjoy
Have you finished the wiring yet? Completed mine. Using the 6mm plastic tubing made the fitting relatively easy, especially being able to go through the hole where the neck fits.
The more important and noteworthy thing is you made thus far without being sent to the Naughty Warehouse....
That in itself is quite an achievement....
So my wire has arrived!!! Not sure when I'll get time to try again but hopefully soon!!
Good stuff, hope the wiring-up goes well.
The Luthier supplies I ordered for my Strat kit should be arriving in the post on the 10th next week, then I'll be able to do the finishing work on the body and neck of my guitar build.
Still haven't got my new loom done ๐ฉ๐ฉ
I really really want to get to it, but the last couple of weeks have been crazy! Though my husband now works in a music shop... Could get my hands on some nice things!!
Shazz what are you waiting for wire still or not enough time to re-do the wiring loom ?
that could be dangerous your husband working in a music shop !
Well I've wired.... Haven't tested yet because it is 1am in NSW.
Will fill you in tomorrow.... The suspense is killing me haha
Also, I highly reccomend using the pre-tinned snip and pull back wire!! The whole loom took me just over an hour and I'm an absolute novice. The first loom took me almost 2 1/2 hrs... Definitely worth the extra money!
It was a success!!!! So very happy ๐๐ now just need to get it all in the body in working order!!! So so happy!!
Woo hoo! :)
It's in the body complete working order!! So flipping happy!! Will set the neck once in the New house. But so happy that the wiring is done!

All body hardware (minus bridge and bigsby) is all fixed in place
Well done, your next build will be much easier....maybe ;)
so you should be happy, super nice work Shazz
Well done Shazza. It might have taken a little while to complete but that just makes the finished guitar more special. Rock out Kiddo.
Very nice work Shazz, now for some sound clips please
Sorry guys, I only have the hardware in! No neck set in yet. That won't be for a few weeks till after moving cause the guitar will be easier to move in its box then as a full guitar!
Good job on the wiring, Shazz, though I think that your experience from your first attempt has also helped to speed up your second attempt! Although the pushback cloth saves time stripping the insulation.
I used shielded pushback cloth wire on mine, though I was halfway through the job before I realised it was pushback... never heard of it before! But it made the rest of the job easy, once I worked out how to use it.
