This arrived todaymy first build for the year. The kit has all the holes predrilled, doesn't seem to have much in the way of glue marks and only a couple of small dings that I'd put down to shipping bumps. the Neck is very nice, I do love a bound neck, it won't take much to smooth off a few little jabby fret ends.
It's going to be a solid blue colour, yea I know , I know but the guitar is a tribute to a Vox played by Siouxsie from the Banshee's. Didn't know she played? well, only on one song that I know of LOL. At the time Robert Smith was also in the band and played a black Vox teardrop, Siouxsies was blue. There are a few differences in the kit ( based on a Japanese brand I think) and a Vox. Vox had different f-hole..only one. 3 single coils ,Different headstock ( six inline) and of course no heart (bum) shape at the very end of the body. Fortunately Siouxsies Vox had a non standard Bigsby on it which I plan to fit and it will mostly conceal the "bum" dip from the front. I'll be using the Tone Rider Rebel 90 humbucker sized P90's that are currently in my le Paul. So in no way a duplicate but more of a tribute * cue Tenacious D
Might be a slow build as I need to save for the Bigsby before I can start.
