3 times Simon.... and will do another try before staining, 1st one showed up a tiny bit near the neck pocket, the binding there had come away slightly too so had to re stick that back using gorilla glue. Fingers crossed.....

The join line down the middle seems to be a prime contender for showing up light after staining.

I really like the colour scheme on this project. In the end it should be a pretty one.

Don't worry too much about the glue on the straight bit by the neck pocket as that will be covered by the neck. But the marks near the binding on the curved part of the cutaway will need a bit of attention - though they don't look too bad compared to a lot of other stained tops I've seen here. In fact the stain seems to have taken pretty well - it just seems a bit shinier where there's a bit of glue, which will probably be even less noticeable when you put the clear finish on.

There is a few more very small spots around where the knobs go but I'm not worried about them, as you say it seems to have taken a bit of dye, so may do another deep colour coat tomorrow night then see.....

My first glue on neck, easier than what I thought, left it in the clamps for 24 hours just to be sure will let it rest now as probably wont finish the wiring till the weekend and string it up
