    Segway's Thinline (TL-1TB)

So as a birthday present a bunch of my mates went in on this kit for me.. I may delay this one a bit in favour of finishing my Yb-4 however I've always wanted a guitar with a bigsby (the first guitar i wanted was a Gretsch streamliner) so I'm incredibly happy. I have a small issue though. When I was doing a mock-up build I realised the kit was missing the control panel. How should i go about getting this fixed?
Anyway I'm thinking of doing the guitar in an uluru red body with an acacia neck (both dt obviously). Thoughts?

Great looking kit - at least you have the YB and can do sanding and finishing while you wait for the plate to arrive

mask that binding and press it down HARD. The plastic auto pin lining tape bends to the curves nice and doesn't have a "grain" like the paper tape which allows stuff to seep under . I just did both the ES2 and a V and had stain get into fine cracks on the V's binding but not on the ES ( it just had so much fine fiddly bits it was a chore). You can scrape stuff off the surface but once it gets into cracks you are stuck with it so take your time

Picked up the missing control plate from the post office today. Finally the kit is ready. On the walk back home thought about the guitar and totally changed my plans as far as staining. I'm thinking of doing a weathered look body and head-stock top (i saw that it's possible to do a chemical stain with vinegar and steel-wool) and a walnut stain on the back and sides. I heave the following feast Watson walnut stain

Would this be good. As I said I've seen the weathered chemical stain with SW and vinegar, Has anyone done this and can give me any pointers? Lastly what final coat should I use (not a massive budget btw)? Thanks in advance

    Hey man,

Check out Wazkelly's swampy caster. I think it may be the look you are going for.
