    guitar tragic

Hi everyone. I have just unpacked my first kit guitar, an ES 1g. I have previously made a Stewmac ukulele kit which sounds fantastic and then made another one from American oak and bunnings pine which also worked out ok. I have just finished a solid body electric also made from Bunnings pine! although I cheated and bought a fender copy bolt on neck. This Pit bull kit looks great although I am a bit worried about the neck settings. The distance from bridge to 12th fret is 31.3cm and from nut to 12th fret is 32cm. Just wondering how it will go when we come to tuning and intonation?

welcome to the forum Peter, keen to see some pics of your previous builds ? I built a few pine scratch body builds too, great way to learn. Being a 24.75" scale length the distance nut to 12th fret crown should be 314mm, so the distance 12th fret to bridge saddles should be about 317/318mm for low E saddle and about 314/315mm to high E saddle. Just check those distances again. Think you might have got them the wrong way around.
Were you close to the Yarloop fires ?

Hi wokkaboy yes you are right, I just refitted the neck and now have 314 from nut to12 and 318/315 to saddles. We had a lot of smoke and embers. Spent 2 days with friends in Mandurah. When I work out how to put photos on here I will do so
