    H e l p 😬

Hey there, first time ever to attempt a build gone with a IB 5 bass.
Need some help as I was expecting/hoping it would come with some sort of guide or manual which no luck there.

Noice - as Dedman has said - have a look here: http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...ead.php?t=1895, start a build diary and ask questions. If you get to a point where you are unsure of what to do next, take a photo, post in your diary, grab a beverage and the members are usually pretty quick to get a response back.

Great thanks for the advice. Think I'll have to get a build diary going.

And remember, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

    Start with a mock build
Get all the pieces out and fit them together to make sure you have it all and things are in good condition
Don't put the bridge posts , and tailpiece posts if it has them, all the way in or they won't come out again
This will give you a feel for how it looks and will assemble, a dry run
    Welcome and enjoy

Welcome Noice, and don't worry too much, we were all where you are right now, well I know I was at least. If I can make one anyone can.

It may seem a bit daunting but follow some of the build diaries, do a dry run to make sure everything fits OK, take your time and enjoy the journey.

Once you've started your build diary you can post any problems or questions and there are some really smart and helpful people around to help you out. Similar to what DB said just above. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.

    cheers

G'day Noice, about 12 months ago I was where you are now except mine was the EX-5. Best thing is that your axe has a bolt-on neck and great place to start for a newbie.

Take your time reading some or lots of build diaries, and particularly on the axe that you are building as they will provide you with lots of insight on where and how to get started or what to look out for.

Help is never too far away on this forum.
