    Wokka's Numberplate axe

Here's some pics of the assembly process, got the bridge and neck screwed in. Will disassemble and give it a good polish then do the wiring. Pickup is a single hot rail which I will coil split with a push pull pot. Just 1 volume straight to the jack. Sorry I didn't really do a build diary. Body is pine scratchy, Mica blue metallic paint, neck scored from Ads is from a PBG1 kit, love the block markers and banana shaped headstock really suits. Not many axes I know that can sit on their side. Might loan it to DB for the next cricket match the shape suits a cricket bat more than a Mosrite haha

Hey Doc cheers mate. I've only put the 2 x E strings on to line up the neck alignment and bridge placement but the action is a tad high need to lower the nut and bridge saddles. I got the frets levelled so no reason why it shouldn't play okay.
No idea how it will sound with the resonance of the plate !
Should find out tonight or tomoz

I reckon it should sound good, I don't think the number plate is going have a detrimental effect on the tone of the guitar, if you connect the number plate to ground (I'm assuming that it's made of metal) that will provide some extra electrical shielding, so you might notice a slight reduction in hum levels if anything, I managed to get the Metallic Blue colour I was after when I visited the big green shed yesterday, so I'm one step closer to finishing off the body for my HotRod Strat, feel free to check out the thread cause I posted a pic of the new can of Metallic Blue.

good stuff Doc, cheers for the tip I will earth the numberplate is metal of course. It probably makes contact with the bridge which is earthed but I'll run another wire to the plate in case.
Will check out your thread later
