    HB-4S Bass - Fatso's first build

    Hi there,

Received a package in the mail today with my HB-4S bass kit, it looks pretty sweet. I really love the spalting in the maple, I'm going to go for a natural finish as the timber speaks for itself really. I haven't had a bass in the house for a bit over a decade after my last one was liberated so I figured it's time to replace it and I like the challenge of building one up so I thought I'd dive in.

I haven't built a proper guitar yet, only a couple of CBG's but hey, how hard can it be.... no, really I'm looking forward to the challenge of trying to do one properly

There's a spalt-splosion on that Hoffy! This should be a grand affair!

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

I have to admit the spalt looks better than I'd hoped it would

That spalt looks amazing, I think you're making the right choice with a natural finish.
