Anyone suggest what finish to use on the fretboard, I want to get the gloss finish you get on a Rick. Is the general neck finish the way to go ?

Check out this link..... http://www.rickenbacker.com/forum/vi...=7806&start=10
Hopefully that answers some of your questions?
Not sure I would go there as rosewood is usually very thirsty and would soak up plenty of finish before levelling out and becoming smooth all over. Mind you I did seal my fretless P Bass with CA Glue (special super glue) but that was mainly done to contain the filler used for fret lines and also protect the surface as there were no longer any frets to help do that job.

Thanks for that, not sure I'm a lot clearer though. This kit has a Rosewood fretboard, so do you think it's best to leave it untreated, or does it need something else on it ?
Hi Alan, for rosewood usually a lemon oil or wax based product is used to maintain the fretboard. Lots of choice out there.
Most guitar shops would have some form of fret treatment/ conditioning product available.
