    Calibrating your monitor speakers

Looks complicated but pretty easy to do. If you don't have an SPL meter.
You can down one for a couple of dollars from app stores. When I do setups I use
    SPLnFFT.
    Here's how to do it

    Download the test files

This is just for you Dedman. I should of made it clearer lol.

    Explore free calibration options.
On a Windows computer, click the Start button, then Control Panel. Search for "Calibrate display" in the control panel search bar and click "Calibrate display color." ...
On a Mac, open System Preferences, then select Displays → the Color tab → Calibrate....

LOL, a good mate of mine owns 12th and Vine mastering studio, we often have these kind of conversations. " Hey Paul, I got a new monitor, a Pro-Art, very nice came fully calibrated" ...You only bought one? "Yea I don't have desk space for 2 " .... It fits on your desk? What about seperation or are you the new Phil Spectre?

    LOL

My two Audioline 15 Watt Powered Monitors have a multi-position rotary switch on the back of them to control the high-frequencies, I played around with the settings of the switches but didn't notice a whole lot of difference, maybe I could try using the calibration test files to do some optimization on my studio sound.

Try the calibrating out Doc it's a case of loading the downloadable files into your DAW then measuring the separate levels from each speaker and subwoofer if you have one so they all match. As I say you can download an SPL meter for your phone iPad.

Cheers mate, I might do that later on cause there's a lot of noise outside from Jet Planes flying overhead as part of the Pitchblack Army Exercises.

Hahahaha.....I think the US armed forces did just that with General Noriega, they set up a huge PA system that was pointed right at his house, then they let rip with some AC/DC tunes played at ear-splitting volume levels, so the story goes, but here's a Wikipedia webpage about the incident:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Nifty_Package

One of these days I should get round to building myself a Marshall Superlead Plexi amp, the non-master volume version cause it is reputedly Marshall's loudest amp, although there's the Marshall Major that puts out 200 Watts.

Here's something interesting, this webpage lists all the songs that were played at very high volume at General Noriega to get him to surrender to US armed forces:

    There's also this too:
