    Hello Fellow Travellers - 1st time bass builder JB-5RF

    Hi Everyone,
    yet another 1st time builder here ...
    I've been playing bass for a long time, and have always loved the sound of fretless instruments, but I've never owned one.
    Finally thought I'd do something about it and have recently received my JB-5RF kit.
    I'm excited about the project ... hoping to end up with an instrument that I'm proud of and that sounds great too.
    Fingers crossed!

    It's also great to see so much collected wisdom in the threads on this site ... I'm bound to have some questions!!

    welcome to the forum Rob, great kit to build, actually no one has done a build diary yet on a 5 string JB.
    Start a build diary and please post some pics of the kit you scored.
    Fretless bass is the way to go I'm a convert, the speed bumps don't sound anywhere near as good !

    Ask any questions you have in the build diary and good luck !

    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
    Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
    Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in
