cool videos Greg very detailed at all the stages of the build. Build was looking good till the part of the clear coat peeled off. I'm puzzled why the guitar was masked for the clear coat, were you masking the binding ?

I masked the top to prevent the back colours getting on the binding and top

good fix on the top Greg, when the clear coats peels off like that usually means a total rub back.

Looks like the bubbles and paint rejection on the back may have to be rubbed back. Other than that the build is coming along well

If I thought I could get the clear off the basecoat without wrecking that too I would do it. I spray mirotone clear on kitchen stuff at work twice a year. I'm out of my depth with this oil base crap Bunnings recommended. Sedl paint specialists said my problems began With the paints Bunnings sold me as "these will definitely work together". It turns out the colours were enamel and nothing will stick to them unless you spray your clear in several fine dust coats before doing a thick full coat. Plan B is to heat gun all the clear off and sand the colours off. If I go that route I will try freehand airbrushing the burst next time around.

i assumed it was a compatibility issue after the last video, i doubt you're the first (or last) person to be burned by Bunnings brand "expertise" me personally I'm old school i screw up just fine without sabotage
GAS implies that the people without a growing collection of guitars are the normal ones.... see it sounds silly now doesn't it?

you're going to haft to sand it all off and start again trying to fix it you'll just get a bigger mess, if your going to try do another silver burst sand it back till you get to the wood if you want to redo it without spending much money once sanded to 240 with oxide paper, get supercheaps primer fill give it like 4 or 5 good coats it will also grain fill the wood then sand that with 400 wet and dry, then use supercheaps silver acrylic give it 4 coats let dry over night (important) sand with 600 wet and dry then 2 more lite coats let dry overnight use supercheaps black for your burst when done leave overnight when done use either super cheap clear or color spec deep crystal clear when you apply the clear you need it to dry over night between coats then you will have a pretty decent looking guitar when done leave it for at least a week before you cut and polish it
