I think it would depend on the rest of the track. If it was a solo guitar track you would probably pick the close soundhole sound. If it was going to be in a denser mix you would want the more trebly neck sounds.

1 inch from sound hole gave more rounded tones and a better spread of the sound, also the closer placement giving a slightly deeper sound
