Non pbg strat build

Hey guys,

Since it's a bit expensive for me to have a kit come over from australia for all of my build ideas i put an add on the interwebs looking for cheap strats and i ended up gettibg the following for next to nothing:





One is a strat of unknown brand which is already partially sanded down the body is quite thin and light.

The other is a 90's squier made in china thebfrets are so worn it needs either a new neck or a re-fret.

Since the first one is already dismantled i'm starting with that one.



Started manually sanding but quickly decided i need some electronic help.
The front ofbthe body was already rid of the top coat and colour but still had the primer or sanding sealer on so i'll needbto sand through that to het at the wood.



Went and bought a sander.

I burned through sabnding pads ridicilously fast, serves me right for buying the cheap stuff will go out and buy quality in the next few days.

Refinish and upgrade one will be in e standard and one will be an e flat bluesmonster

Purple should look cool with that grain pattern

Ok so the plans for this one are as follows:

See through purple burst (mild burst not all the way to black) finishzd with TO

Neck will be dyed on a vintage amber and finished with TO

Fretboard will be sanded (previous owner did one fret already so i kind of have to)

Custom pearloid purple dot inlays.

Prolly dye the fretboard ebony.

Pearloid white pickguard and backplate. 3 ply

Chrome hardware

Vintage white (cream) pickup covers, tremolo handle, switch handle and knobs.

Rolling nut and string trees

Locking tuners

Bridge upgrade

250k pots
.047 caps
Tex Mex pickups

Did some more sanding today, the curves of the cutaways will need to be done by hand, hopefully get that done tomorrow so i can get started on sanding and shaping the neck.

That trans purple burst will look sweet and there is some nice grain in that body.
