I ordered the TLA-1. I want to build a classic yellow Tele with chrome hardware and black pickguard.
    Hope for the best!

great kit to start on Eddy. Your plans sound good. Will the yellow be a stain or solid paint ?

If you are staining it I recommend Dingotone Coolangatta gold will look good

May I also ask how good are the stock pickups? Are they good enough to start with or should I upgrade them straight away?

nice looking tele Eddy, you should be able to achieve a similar colour using Dingotone Coolangatta gold. Will be a bit darker with the ash grain.
The stock pups aren't bad but the output is a bit lower than better quality pups. If you can spare just over $100 then a set of Toneriders will improve the sound
