I was gonna retrospectively make up a build diary for the LP-1M that I have been tweaking, from pics on my phone.
I put on all non standard parts -gold hardware, CTS pots, sienna sunburst, phase switch for convincing Peter Green tones, finished in naughty oil, Tonerider alnico4 pups, beautiful action, classic sound.
Anyway, I took it up to Brisbane to show my guitar playing son, along with my DIY starcaster that he hadn't seen yet.
He played the starcaster, said some complimentary things, and then played the LP.
Now he's a dedicated Fender fan, I could never impress him with my Gibson style SE-asian copies.
He was in reverential awe.The classic licks from Led Zep, ZZ Top, original Fleetwood Mac, just rolled off his fingers.
So I was telling him about the fact that I had ordered a lefty HB-4 for his bass playing brother, and later thought it would feedback like a banshee when gigging at the volume he uses in his band. So I had then ordered an IB-5 (again special order lefty) that he might find more useful.
So I told him I had a guitar kit on its way for me to build for him ( a special order ST-12), but he could choose another one, any one and I would build him another one.
