    lp antique used looking body

    Hi well im waiting on my neck so I decided to dye the body figured if the neck doesnt work out ill hang the guitar on my wall. anyways been dying the body the sanding re dyeing and well im at the point were im adding true oil to it heres a picture of body withought neck and with hard were to see if they fit ok as you can see the purple is flat and you can see the binding on and the secound picture after sanding and dyeing the bacl black and adding true oild im almost there.
    im thinkinh about the neck and glue i hope i can get the access glue offwithought living residue on the body.

    and this is what it looks like now still need more coast and litlte steel wool work to even it all out tell me what you think about the look i wanted to make look like it was used and like looking inside a glass box if u know what i meanClick image for larger version.

    Nothing spectacular working with what i have here in this grazy province my next build I found transit dye and biger bottle of oils

    Certainly toned down the purple once some top coats went on and it looks very Antique as your title states.

    With gluing the neck suggest using titebond as it wipes off really easy when wet once it oozes out of the joint being glued without leaving too much mess or residue. Just need to wipe up the excess as soon as you have clamped everything in place.

    yep will wipe it off glue quick. I used still wool today and its super fine when done i notice some surface scratches on the body i didnt rub hard or anything anyways ill buff them out when done i added another coat of oil today will add 4 more before done im using light layers of it so it doesnt leave mark. it outside now take in some air
