Building an IB5 bass, first build, just about finished. The stock nut fell off in shipment, going to replace it with a TUSQ nut. Any recommendations on type of glue to use? Would like something easy to remove the nut in case I have to sand it down. Noticed one of the comments on the IB5 was that he couldn't press down on the first fret due to nut height. Thanks
Well, you wouldn't want to glue it down until you have the height sorted. String tension will hold it in while you are doing your adjustments. After you've got it right, one or two small dots of superglue will give you a enough hold to stay, but will be able to be fairly easily removed in the future.

+1 for Pablo's comments - 2 drops CA glue and string tension - more than enough.

Thanks guys, got it done. Found this excellent site for guitar nuts. Used a few dabs of Elmers glue, tightened the strings until the glue set. In case anyone needs this info in the future, the site is http://www.stewmac.com/How-To/Online...p-by-Step.html
One more question for your input. The volume on this IB5 with Humbucker pickups really sucks, have both volume controls all the way up. Any suggestions besides spending a few hundred on 2 active pickups?
OK, need to retract my comment about the volume really sucks. After setting all intonation, tuning and adjusting amp settings, the sound is awesome. Mellow with a lot of adjustment with the tone pots. Not a jamin active bass but great for jazz and swing.

Yep. You can run passives through an active pre amp, gives a bit more punch.
There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
