Time to get rid of some Telecaster Bodies

Time to get rid of some Telecaster Bodies
    And make Telecaster guitars.

    Project name Wild Bill

    Body 2010 American Special
    Timber Alder

    Bridge Joe Bardon replacement

Pickguard Nashville Tele now routed for Humbucker colour Mint Green (looks white in the pics)

    Neck Pickup:

West German Ultrasonic HB made by Bill Lawrence late 70's early 80's designed to have an open sound, $90 each in their day. Found it in a mystery bag of goodies i bought off Ebay many years ago and have never used it

    7.05k
    2.3H

    Middle Pickup:

Bill Lawrence L298SM stacked humbucker for Strat wound by Bill in about 2009 for me, have never used them but they are crystal clear from the ones i have heard.
    11.46k
    3.3H

    Bridge Pickup:

Bill Lawrence L298 TL Stacked Telecaster Bridge Pickup, wound by Bill as above, smooth as silk, but these things are and hot as a roof in summer.

    14.6k
    4.9H

I seem to have a good balance here, still working on the wiring from hell in my head , not sure what i am about yet, but i think a 5 way super switch will go in and maybe some other bits and pieces, i have 4 conductor wires on the neck HB so i will get stuck into that for sure.

Black Scratch plate flipped with a pair of white/ cream Q Parts Custom knobs, subject to change.

    Heres a mock up

wow Tony some extra special goodies going on this build. Think you meant to type 'bridge pickup" on the bottom pup description
    14.6k single wow

any reason why there is a hole drilled in the centre of the neck pocket ? I've seen it done on a few of your free bodies thread

I am led to believe the holes are to make sure it's centered in the body to keep it straight when CNC routing

Lots of teles seem to have it.

    And fixed the Bridge ID

The measure of Inductance is more what its about, and its not overly hot at 4.9H about double that of a normal Strat or telecaster, and its actually a stacked humbucker.

Also beware when buying Bill Lawrence pickups his ex partner uses Bill Lawrence brand name, and Bill Lawrence uses Wilde Bill for his pickups just to confuse things more

cheers for clarifying that Tony, the stacked pups are quite a bit deeper, so presume they have alot more windings than a standard single pup ? Any other major differences, are the pole pieces longer or 2 separate poles ?

Glad i can be of help

The top are the magnets the bottom are ferrite cores, the top coil is magnetized, the bottom coil with the ferrite cores aren't, but bump up the inductance that is mostly responsible for noise collection. Alot more to it but thats basically it.

The again thats only one idea theres quite a few more.
