My latest project is a custom 6120 that i just finished..Enjoy..Bright orange wood dye by Crimson guitars, followed by 2 coats of Nitrocellulose Lacquer Aerosol - Vintage Amber, topped off with a further 10 coats of clear nitro..Left hanging for around a month to harden off before hand cutting and polishing with fine cutting compound..As many guys on here have also said..SAND SAND and SAND again..I used some nice fine scotch pads between coats and the final finish is absolutely flawless..(like a mirror).. This is the finest 6120 that i have played, (and i have played many lol)..The kit went together as it should, but i would say that you do need to be a little gifted on cutting the nut, trussrod adjustment, and intonation and action setting..(all of which i spent a good night on sorting out)..My advice before taking on such a project is "PATIENCE IS A MUST".. You will get out of your build what you put in..The only upgrade that i have given my baby is a lovely vintage gretsch tremmy..The wiring is copied from a vintage 6120 and is as follows.. Pickup 1 and pickup 2 with vol 1 and vol 2 (switched 3 way) Master vol and 1 master tone..She`s a real beauty and sounds as good as she looks..Feel free to message me for any advice i can give..Happy guitar building guys..XX..
