    1st kit , IB-6

My first ever kit arrived yesterday , been hanging around for a little while trying to figure out what to build . I've build several partscaster tele's and a strat, but been thinking about a bass for a while, for my recording .So having only held a bass once in my life I figured I'd go all out and build a IB-6.
I wet the top today to check out any figuring and look for glue spots , luckily there's not much glue except under where the bridge will be[ I've already ordered single string saddles so hopefully they will be ok ]. Not much flame but the spalting is very nice , planning just to use clear or maybe a light golden burst.....
May even wind my own pickups , depending on how it sounds as I'll be using a pre amp , what's everyone's opinion of the included pickups?
And 1 quick snap of my paisley esquire build

Welcome to the forum. You have a great looking kit there, and your paisley esquire is just awesome!

Thanks , the paisley is a recreation of fenders 60"s pattern ....lots of work to recreate that
Found something interesting today , not sure if it's normal but the back has a basswood veneer as well, hopefully when I dye it it matches ok with the sides
