Yep heard the sad news this morning.
Jon was the lead guitarist in my band for a period in 1968 we lost touch in the late 1980s, a great bloke gone far too soon

Very sad indeed.
I remember seeing him in Pirates of Penzance , he made the show ...... sad at only 66.
Never really received all the accolades nor success he deserved. Great showman gone way too soon.
I only met him the once. A mate was doing an acoustic set at the Bald Rock pub in Rozelle. John lived somewhere nearby and dropped by for a beer.
It wasn't long until John joined in and a rollocking evening was had by all. By crickey he could sing and play.

Apparently he used to live up our way as well Rabz. My older sister recalls that it wasn't uncommon to see him shopping at Hornsby.
