    sanding thin veneer

Has anybody worked on a TL 1Q kit? I'm a bit nervous about sanding the maple top as it's only a mil thick at the best

Hi Mark, the veneer is probably less than half a mm thick going on what others have said.
I would probably only use minimum 360 or 400 grit and only do a very light sand.
Personally I probably wouldn't even risk sanding the veneer, I'd just start staining it.
Rest of the body go for gold sanding

I worked the veneer with 400grit and 600grit, your not going to get every blemish.

    Go lightly
