    binding stain

I intend to by the Tele kit with the maple top and binding then stain . Will the stain wipe of the binding if some accidentally got on it? Secondly what should I use on a Maple fretboard to get that honey tint?

Hi Mark, welcome to the forum, which kit are you looking at the TL-1Q ? that has black binding which shouldn't take much stain.
If the binding is white/cream you can tape it off or use fine steel wool or a blade to scape off any stain
email Dingobass about a honey coloured stain for the neck, he should be able to make you that colour
    Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

Sometimes it's good to polish the binding as well - that gives less tooth for any stain.

    Wot Woks and Bman sed

I also find that wiping any stain off the binding before you hang it to dry helps as well

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
