    Damo's 2nd build - ES1G

    Hey all!
I've started my 2nd build being the ES1G whilst I'm also doing final teaks on my ESB4.

This isn't an overly detailed build diary because I forgot to take photos of the mock build but here's my progress to date:

    1. Grain fill. I wanted to try out grain filling on this build because I didn't do it on the ESB4 and even though I'm really happy with the ESB4 I kinda wished I'd grain filled it. Anyway I used mahogany Timbermate so hoped to get some nice reddish grain popping. Here's the sanded body:

    2. Coat 1. Going for a classic look here with a burst using Colortone Yellow, Cherry and black. I had to work fast because Colortone dries real fast. I had to work in sections to try and avoid dry lines at the edges of the colours (worked better in some areas but not so great in others.

3 Coat 2. I was pretty happy after the first coat but I really wanted the black to be blacker and the yellow to be richer. I also realised that the back was different to the front so the back ended up needing more work.

The grain on the front doesn't really show up that well in the photos but it's looking great.

Yeah rattle can gloss. I learnt the hard way on my last build about the "right" and "wrong" way to spray with a can so I think I should be right to get a good finish in less time this time round.
