    Merry Christmas from Sydney

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas. I've been following the forums for a while and recently started on my first kit(s).

I ordered a JM-1 kit a few weeks back and by the time it arrived, I'd changed my mind about the Dingotone colour (Coolangatta Gold). So now I have a bunch more Dingotone and an LP-1S (needed to make it worthwhile for the postie I reckon).

This is all new to me, I don't have any experience with any kind of manual labour or producing anything of value (I'm an IT professional). In fact, as I was shopping for hardware in the store whose name is not spoken, I started to think 'this is the kind of thing real men do'. That was just before I had to go ask a teenage girl for help.

    Build diaries to follow.

Welcome BH, don't let lack of experience cause doubts.

I spent just over 50 years in IT and lack of intimate knowledge didn't stop me from building a couple of cars and guitars but the will to have a go and learn as I went got me through.

Ask questions here and they will be answered by some very clever people also spend plenty of time in the classroom of the future ( YouTube ) pretty much anything that you can think of will have tutorials on there if you take the time to look

Thanks for the words of encouragement all.

@dave.king1 - Cars are another subject I'd like to learn about, but I figure guitar building is a cheaper hobby, maybe?

@wokkaboy - Yeah, I've been reading through build diaries trying to get a feel for what I'm getting myself into. Perhaps I should just say Tru Oil now and just get that out of the way. Heading over to start a spalty build thread now.

Blueshound there are plenty of better pale ales around than JS 150 lashes, I'll dig up a better one for you
