First Build ST-1 Kit for my daughter

Sorry, no pics yet and i wasn't going to do a build thread but I struck an issue yesterday.

I have sanded, sanded and sanded the body and headstock (after shaping it)
primer coat sanded and primer coat on both the body and headstock
(waiting for Dingo tone to show up for the neck Finish)

I had 2 coats of solid colour on the headstock and decided to do one more Just to make sure.

A nice overcast and raining day, came back inside to find little bubbles on the solid colour.
WATER had some how got into the coat as I was spraying it... so hours latter and more Sanding
Sanding and more sanding it is now back to a primer coat..

Oh well, it has been a long time since I have spray painted anything.. I'll be more careful now

    Pics coming soon..

I must say, again, everyone here has been most helpful in advise, thanks..

    Neil

Given the fashion choice this week in Oz I trust this doesn't match her hair colour or you could be respraying green next week

    Looks great in blue though

if that was the case I would have to fade it to blonde

But she does want black crosses on the blue so we'll see how I get on..

Tried putting the Black cross on the headstock yesterday, big time failure...
I have had to strip it back to bare wood and start again, this has been a big learning curve..

reason for failure, did not wait long enough for the blue paint to dry properly.

when I get it looking right I'll post some more pic's

hey Neil trap for young players, it may have looked dry on the surface. We learn the hard way sometimes that patience pays off. Look forward to seeing the 2nd attempt

So after much more sanding, some time and a lot of tape.
here is a poor picture of the body and headstock complete with the "punk" black crosses on them.
it's what the daughter wanted. I still have to clear coat and polish yet.
