Thread: Hello!

    Hello!

Hi I am from Melbourne VIC My name is Joey.

I have never build a guitar before and I've chosen the standard Tele for my first build. Still deciding on the finish but right now I'm leaning towards a colour along the lines of a light blue to a surf green colour. I'm going to upgrade to an ashtray bridge and possibly a Bigsby in the future. I want to end up with something that looks similar to this picture. Does anyone know what that finish might be called?

This seems like a really nice friendly environment and it's made me very excited to start building!

    Thanks!

    Hi Joey,
welcome to the forum ! Your plans for the tele build sound great. That colour will look excellent. Sure if you went to a decent paint store they could match it. It's a bit lighter than a seafoam green.
Start a build diary when the kit arrives and do a mock build to make sure it all fits together and all the parts are there.
There are a few forum builders in the Melbourne area.

Thanks! What sort of paint would you usually use? I bought two different MTN 94 colours but they don't feel right. The paint seems ace though.

    Hi Joey,
if you have bought the paint then get two pieces of scrap wood and spray each can and see how it looks.
Always spray on scrap before to make sure you are happy with the paint colour

Hi, Wokkaboy, thanks for your reply. I have sprayed them on a piece of copy paper and they are nice colours but just not what I wanted. I think I have found the colour though it's the Montana Hardcore 2 Max Green. Thanks for your help, the forum will probably hear from me again soon!
