    Wokka's Jazzmaster scratch

After a visit to a local timberyard and some tips from DB I've attempted my first drop top build and some tasty silky oak centre and rose gum flanks over tazzy oak pretty happy how its shaping up after a rough bandsaw. My damn printer ran out of ink so I've taken the shape from a tablet by eye. Will print an accurate plan at work Monday and cut the final shape.
Also thanks Pabs for giving me the idea with this cool shape, will ask some more questions about your build

I think he's going to use pale pink Dulux Wash & Wear slapped on thick with a 5inch coarse brush. Gotta cover up all those impurities in the wood.

I'd say so Barge, wet ragging the top the silky oak grain is pretty damn cool

great start wokks, I've been thinking about a full Tas Oak body, would it be too heavy?

cheers Stan, I think a full tassy oak axe won't be too heavy, its not too dense and is pretty easy to cut.
This axe is pretty heavy due to its size, its almost 500mm long and 355mm wide in its current state
