Thread: Neck to body attachment

    Neck to body attachment

    Perhaps another silly question...

I've designed a bolt on neck bass guitar. The body is marine hardwood ply and the neck is some random hardwood I found in the factory

Is there any special mounting requirements to attach the two or can I just use good quality wood screws? There's about 18mm of meat on both the body and neck.

Should I add epoxy / wood glue as well to be safe? It will probably never be removed.

If you have no intention of removing the neck, I would glue it in.
Titebond is the best stuff to use in this instance.

Are you going Fretless on this?

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
