Love slap bass had a drink with Mark king on the Isle of Wight great guy. Couldn't get the technique down. I believe it's making a comeback.
It flipflops in and out of style- often it's overused, and I have been guilty of trying to play slap in ballads simply because it's an addictive technique.
I notice a lot of the 8 string guitarists out there are now adapting slap technique to their instruments, with intriguing results.
