Thread: Mark's ES-3

    Mark's ES-3

Received an email from Mark, who is in Wales (don't mention the Rugby) and bought an ES-3 kit from us last year. Check out the beautiful guitar, complete with inlays, that he produced.

Here's his comments on the build:

"Headstock (amended castelated shape) Rosewood veneer face inlaid with mother-of-pearl and abalone and edged with pearloid. Truss cover solid rosewood with abalone inlay. Neck heel ditto. Top marquetry inlay various hardwood veneers. Back inlays hardwood veneer and mother-of-pearl, Finish high gloss nitro-cellulose. Because the grain was so good (thanks) It was good enough for a natural, rather than sunburst, finish. Neck sunburst because of different colour wood to the body. All hardware gold. Pick-guard clear perspex reverse engraved. Looks, plays and sounds great."

Mark is a member of the Forum, so I'm sure he can give us some more info.
    Cheers,

    Adam
