Yep, seen them already, interesting to watch the process unfold! If I had the money I'd invest in some nice upgrades to all my kits, these kits can go a long way for what is actually not that much money when you look at it! I wouldn't route the binding channel, I'd stick with a faux binding

If you have the tools real binding is nice. Cleans up a hell of a lot easier too - less fiddly

Pleasure Wokka , I guess the thing is they have a guy that's relatively new to guitar building . I guess they are saying if he can do it so can you.

not all that different from commercial guitars really.
Machines make the bodies and necks and people put it all together and finish them.
Not much different than buying your body and neck and doing it yourself.
Plenty of people built parts casters and use proprietary bodies and necks.
That is why I have no issue with kit guitars.
And seeing some of the results here, they are just as good as name brand stuff

All cool Kimball, my comment was essentially about how I think there is not a lot of difference between a well made (and modified, if you like) kit guitar and something by a name brand off the shelf.
Always exceptions in both classes of course.

Yes I have seen all the XY related videos, how can a Muse fan like me NOT watch them and drool?

Also I agree with Stan, with time, a not too heavily decked out Man Cave and some experience, you can turn one of these kits into brilliant guitars that can even rival the big brands! I even have a friend who owns a top of the range Fender Strat and prefers my Strat over it, the only thing he would do is replace the pickups and wiring harness... Maybe even a bone nut...
