shaping a nut from a blank

So I'm curious on the process of shaping a nut. Because you could sand the bottom and also cut the slot deeper there's two ways to go.

    Also, shape of cuts/angles etc

Cool idea for a forum mate.

    Hey Nick,

I bought the "Essential Nut Making Tool Kit" from Stewmac and always file my own nuts from rectangular blanks. The process I follow is that set out by Dan Erlewine here:

Has always produced great results for me.

    cheers,
    Gav.

    Wot Gav said.

During the Explorer build I will do a bone nut cutting tute.

Should be up in a few days as I am starting on the neck.

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
